New York
BIG, Bjarke Ingels Group, an avantgarde international studio of architecture and experimentation founded in Copenhagen in 2005 by Bjarke Ingels, has opened its new branch in New York, illuminated in its entirety by Artemide.
The studio’s new office is at Dumbo, Brooklyn, one of the city’s up-and-coming areas where professional studios, cafés, cultural centers and a bustling creative activity are clustered at the feet of the two bridges that connect Brooklyn and Manhattan. The new premises of over 50,000 square meters house, in addition to the offices of the more than 250 New York “BIGsters,” spaces for workshops, free areas for recreation, exhibition and public spaces. The rooms are illuminated with the innovative systems designed by the studio for Artemide: in particular Alphabet of Light, which winds through the spaces, assuming different configurations.
